Volunteer Opportunity: Accounting System for Girl Be Heard (Remote) Share to social media More options Catchafire Las Vegas, NV, US

Job description

Girl Be Heard is a Catchafire partner organization. All Catchafire volunteer opportunities are well-scoped, flexible, and supported by a Catchafire Nonprofit Advisor throughout the engagement to ensure a successful volunteer experience for both the organization and the volunteer. Every Catchafire project can be completed virtually.WHAT WE NEED
  • Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of current accounting practices
  • Recommendations for process improvements and report generation
  • Recommendations for appropriate bookkeeping software and related costs (if necessary)
  • Implementation of chosen bookkeeping software (if necessary)
  • Training on data input and essential reports to generate
HOW THIS WILL HELPAs a small but fast-growing nonprofit, the number of grants we are managing has increased significantly, as has the amount of dollars being tracked. With our current system, this requires a lot of manual accounting, which is very time-consuming and can potentially lead to errors. A truly effective accounting system would streamline our operations and would enable our Director of Operations (who currently serves as CFO, HRO, GMO, etc.) to focus on more strategic objectives.

WHAT WE HAVE IN PLACEOur accounts are in good order. We have a chart of accounts, audited financial statements, etc. We have been looking into this issue for a few months and so have a good handle on what our requirements and wish list items for a new accounting system would be.

Fun Fact About Us
Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda and his dad, Luis Miranda are friends of Girl Be Heard and were honored as our first Fairy Godfathers this past April.
