We are seeking a Plant Controller / Manager of Analysis for our Building Products-Gypsum plant located in North Las Vegas, NV.
Our Building Products business is North America's No. 1 producer of wood panels – namely plywood and oriented strand board – and is a leading producer of gypsum products and lumber. Georgia-Pacific is also a major supplier to large do-it-yourself warehouse retailers. Many GP structural panel products are Home Innovation NGBS Green Certified.
• Providing financial and economic decision making support through operational gap analysis, capital planning support, and other ad-hoc analysis
• Developing accounting & finance process improvement initiatives by creating & sharing best practices and innovation, and
• Facilitating collaboration & knowledge sharing, utilizing the challenge process, to seek the best knowledge available, to positively impact both the operational and the finance capabilities As the Plant Controller you will be the finance leader at the facility, with an opportunity to gain a valuable understanding of the various elements of the manufacturing process. This position manages one and reports directly to a Regional Controller.
Specific Responsibilities:
Business Analysis
• Report & analyze monthly results & trends
• Provide analytical support on capital and major expense projects
• Develop monthly forecasts & annual plan
• Analyze financial performance of operational improvement bets
Fiduciary
• Ownership of the internal control environment
• Balance sheet ownership & monthly review
• Ownership and preformance of the month-end closing process
What You Will Need:
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- At least 4 years of accounting or financial analysis experience
- Accounting coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting
- Clear understanding of integrated financial systems
- Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through innovation
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel – spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and the General Ledger
- Strong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills
- Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
- Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven initiative with a focus on innovation and process improvement
- Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others

- Inventory Experience
- SAP, Infinium, Infor or large ERP experience preferred
- Experience providing timely information and service to internal business customers
- Experience with key financial concepts: variance analysis, product costing and capital investments
