Requirements:
High school diploma required. Associates degree in business or related field preferred.
Two years of work experience in non-profit agency operations.
Two years of database management experience in a fundraising environment, Raiser's Edge (or similar fundraising database) experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to plan, organize daily activities to meet daily deadlines.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Outstanding customer service skills; must enjoy speaking on telephone.
Sound judgment with ability to work autonomously and make decisions.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Prioritize work, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Expert proficiency in computers including Database experience and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Summary:
The Development Coordinator is responsible for the maintaining the donor records for the agency. Enters donors and their gifts with complete accuracy, tracks data, runs reports and processes acknowledgement and tax receipt letters. Responsible for entering and tracking pledges. Contacts donors by telephone, email, through written correspondence and in person, as appropriate. Works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator in scheduling and welcoming of volunteers and is the primary backup. Works closely with the Development team in conducting donor and fundraising activities.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain individual donor records with complete accuracy.
- Process donations with complete accuracy working closely with accounting department.
- Compose, edit and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence promptly.
- Track tax credit donations and produce year-end letters.
- Alert manager of charitable gifts made by key individuals, donors, volunteers and /or Trustees.
- Run daily, weekly, monthly fundraising reports as well as other business management reports.
- Generate accurate mail lists, email lists and specialized correspondence.
- Remain continuously educated on the Raiser's Edge database. Ability to assist/teach others and/or fulfill requests for information from the system.
- Provide backup for Volunteer Coordinator. Some weekend work may be required.
- Participate in events, which may occur in the evenings or on the weekend.
- Perform departmental administrative duties as required.
- Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data. Comply with safety rules.
- Other related duties as directed.
