POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing clerical and technical support in internal matters relating to: recruitment, hiring, transfer, change in pay, status, termination and benefits of employees to the Human Resources Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Tracks open positions from job requisitions, updates open position. Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities such as orientation of new employees and explanation of credit union employment policies and practices, benefits, and compensation. Prepares and mails correspondence to applicants for positions within the credit union. Completes salary survey forms. Functions as Payroll backup. Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses. Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons. Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports. Administers and scores aptitude, personality, and interest tests. Computes wages and records data for use in payroll processing. Compiles and maintains records for use in employee benefits administration. Sends correspondence to employees, as necessary, which includes COBRA and Defined Benefit Plan notification. Prepares and files reports as might be required by regulation, credit union policy, or benefit providers. Prepares orientation packets for newly hired employees. Assists with reference checking on prospective applicants.
