Position Summary
The Art Consultant will have full understanding of who Peter Lik is and have complete product and gallery knowledge to successfully provide every visitor the “Lik Experience”. He or she will follow a strategic sales process with the intent to turn gallery visitors into Peter Lik collectors. He or she will be responsible for following up with those collectors to inform them of any news and new releases. The goal of an Art Consultant is to assist collectors in adding Peter Lik artwork to their collections.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers by establishing that artwork is all by Peter Lik, is available for sale in limited edition or artist proofs, and is available in custom sizes.
- Provide comfortable and welcoming environment to all gallery visitors
- Work individually and as a team to set up and show artwork in viewing rooms.
- Give a full presentation following the sales process using proper lighting, voice tone, and engaging the customer in a rapport building way. Solicit valuable input from customer and listen for buying signals.
- Maintain professional demeanor at all times with customers and collectors.
- Present summary close with price after building the value of the artwork. Never before!
- Work closely with Gallery Director to close difficult sales and follow the Gallery Director’s instructions (never negotiate on your own).
- Enter the sale into PLONE following the PLONE manual
- Follow up with clients via telephone or email within one week.
- Call customer list and email collectors to close telephone sales.
- Work on Gallery upkeep and appearance daily (dusting, vacuuming, book stacks, washing windows, etc.)
- Follow Gallery Director instructions in other tasks, such as inventory.
- Ensure proper music is playing.
- Answering telephone appropriately.
- Assist in receiving all deliveries and uncrating images.
- Assist with updating price books.
- Assist with general organization of gallery office including roll outs and supplies.
- Help communicate with clients in the event of any repairs or damages after delivery.
- Responsible for getting all information to the Gallery Director in a timely manner.
- Responsible for learning PLONE, Outlook, and any other company programs.
- Communicate with clients throughout the sales process.
- Maintain an organized client notebook.
- Responsible for personal sales paperwork, credit card processing, and taking proper payment.
- Maintain minimum employment standards including gallery sales / telephone sales quotas established with your Gallery Director.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude conducive to a welcoming gallery environment that leads to a sale and maintaining a collector relationship.
- Be on time for shifts and sales meetings.
- Participate in sales meetings when asked by Gallery Director.
- Represent Peter Lik in positive terms at all times, whether at work or at leisure.
- Increase knowledge of Peter Lik the brand, the artist, and the images.
- Follow dress code and proper hygiene.
- Demonstrate presentation to Gallery Director (If requested, on video).
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities

- Accurate and detail oriented
- Intermediate understanding and proficiency using the following software:
- MS Office
- Internet
Experience
- Minimum 3 years sales experience, preferably in a luxury sales environment
- Proven track record of exceeding sales goals
Education and Knowledge
- High School Diploma required
- College degree preferred
- Knowledge of fine art helpful
Status
- Hourly / Commission / Non Exempt
- Beginning pay is hourly + commission for first 2 months
- Hourly against commission after 2 months
