General Summary:
The
Assistant Treasurer oversees all functions of the treasury department,
including the cash management and international finance areas, assists
in negotiations for all major debt financings, and takes the lead in all
minor financing transactions. This position is responsible for all the
financial modeling that is the basis for all capital structure
decisions. In addition, the Assistant Treasurer negotiates all equipment
leases and negotiates bank fees. The Assistant Treasurer is also
responsible for debt agreement compliance and ensuring that the Company
does not go into default. Responsible for budgeting, analyzing and
managing all transaction fees to ensure cost savings.
Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
§ Debt Negotiations:
Assist in negotiating bond financings, term loan financings and
revolver facilities, including making sizing, financial covenant and
basket recommendations. Responsible for the financing due diligence
process for all financings, including evaluation of bids and proper due
diligence and documentation for closing. Lead all minor financing
transactions. Produce lender and rating agency presentations.

§ Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
Responsible for the long-range financial model which forms the basis
for capital structure decisions, liquidity analysis, and corporate
finance strategy planning and budgeting. Provide scenario modeling
capabilities and an integration with the short-term cash forecast

§ Loan Administration:
Compliance and monitoring of all debt covenants, restrictions, and
baskets. Ensure the Company is not in default with respect to any
financial instrument and that DG is providing lenders with proper
reporting and documentation in a timely and efficient manner.

§ Oversee Treasury Department:
Oversee the operations in cash management and international finance.
Responsible for borrowing decisions under our debt agreements,
negotiations of bank service charges, all cash management systems and
processes, including ensuring compliance with the electronic funds
transfer policy and the short term investment policy. Ensure that all
transactions occur in a timely fashion. Provide direction for the cash
forecasting model. Ensure proper transaction reporting each fiscal
period. Oversee payment and financing processes for import
merchandise.

§ Debit and Credit:
Provide analysis and support for negotiations with debit and credit
networks. Review and analyze all regulatory and legal updates to
determine cost impact, recommend and quantify routing changes, monitor
trends and budget and forecast expense accordingly.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
§ Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to run numerous scenarios within a very short turnaround.

§ Excellent spreadsheet skills is a must.

§ Solid understanding of financial markets.

§ Strong negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.

§ Ability to comprehend and interpret debt agreements.
§ Advanced knowledge of general finance and accounting principles.
§ Ability to manage a project from inception through implementation and completion.
§ Good organizational and time management skills.

§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
|
Work Experience:
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance; MBA preferred.
§ 10 - 12 years treasury related experience, preferably with a large multi-state retailer.
