Job Summary: Schedules patient appointments, greets patient and visitors, answers and directs phone calls, checks patients in and out, verifies insurance eligibility and assists in general office duties.
Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum six (6) months experience in customer service; preferably in healthcare.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to calculate and apply basic math concepts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to communicate professionally with the public.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes; knowledge of medical terminology.
- Math skills to manage cash, change, checks and credit card transactions.
- Knowledge of operating various types of office machinery (i.e., faxes, typewriters, copier, etc.) and applicable software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of Eve, Meditech, Rumba and/or any other insurance verification software.
