Summary:
This position will be responsible for ensuring that all transportation and fleet maintenance safety initiatives are accomplished at the regional level by the most efficient and cost effective methods possible. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the person who holds this position must be an experienced in fleet safety, accident/injury prevention programs, DOT regulations, Hazardous Material regulations, and OSHA regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Facilitate training with management and hourly employees
- Effectively communicate and implements safety initiatives
- Investigate safety loss-events and coach individuals in prevention
- Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values and goals
- Offer subject matter expertise in safety management and compliance
- Travel required 50-75% of the time
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Director of Safety
- Company representative at state trucking associations
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts
